Journal of parliamentary proceedings

Last revision 19/09/2023

The journal of parliamentary proceedings contains, step by step, the most important information about the process of passing the laws that are debated in the Senate.

The date of the entry and publication of the initiative in the Senate is given first. Then, a deadline is published for the debating of the initiative, since the House has a maximum of two months to make a decision (20 days if the procedure is deemed to be urgent).

The summary table also provides information about the competent Committee for each initiative, the presentation timeframe for amendments and the number of amendments presented, the dates on which the different bodies met and the publication of the resulting texts - indicating whether any modifications were made by the Committee or not -, the number of dissenting opinions and, finally, the date on which a debate is scheduled in the Senate Plenary Sitting.
